What do you call an ATV Snowplow? way more fun than a snowblower!
Since getting our Honda Pioneer 1000-5 Summer of 2017, we’ve had little use of our Yamaha Kodiak 400 4×4 (2001). However, I had a 48″ snowblade that is perfect for sidewalks so I wanted to hold onto the machine.
I also custom fabricated a receiver hitch so I could get my 7×16 enclosed trailer into tight spots. The ATV is very thin, so if you need to turn quickly or get right up next to a fence or wall you can.
My ATV Snowplow build:
- Yamaha Kodiak 400 4×4
- 3500 lbs warn winch with a home made mount.
- warn snowblade
- Tusk TRILOBITE 6-Ply Tires
If you look on KSL, you can find an ATV and often with a snowblade for about $3500. I’ve seen folks spend about that much on a snowblower.
A side-by-side/UTV is too wide for sidewalks and often too big for driveways.

these tires are ideal for snow removal. even if you don’t get all the snow/ice, it puts traction marks onto the cement and gives foot/tire traction 🙂

repairing the CV boot is about the only repair we’ve ever done to our kodiak
